What I keep on my desk — My Work from Home Office Desk Essentials
Blue Yeti Microphone
I use the Blue Yeti microphone for when I will be audio-only. I commonly use this in Discord for clear communication. In the future, I would like to start a podcast and so this makes a nice entry-level microphone.
Under Desk Storage Organizer
Despite my love for swag, I don’t like to keep such items on my desk such as pens, pencils, and as you can see sticky notes. Also, this under desk organizer connects to the bottom of my desk through command strips. As a result, I now have drawers under my desk and can avoid random items.
Anker Power Cube
I really like the idea of maximizing my desk essentials via utilizing under-desk space. Specifically, this Anker Power Cube has a 5 Ft Extension Cord, 3 USB Slots with a power button, and 3 Power Outlets. Command Strips are such a great invention. Thus, I can attach this entire Anker Power Cube underneath my desk with the included Command Strips. Since this falls under $20, it makes a great addition to your home office desk!
My Home Office Standing Desk
I dive into a lot more detail on why I chose the Vari Desk on this blog post about all the different standing desks you can choose for your home office.
All in all, I enjoy having ample desk space, this desk is 60 inches long! In addition, the grey color matches my theme! Finally, you can’t go wrong with an electric-powered standing desk.
Monitor Stand & Monitors
The specific mount I purchased doesn’t seem to be available anymore. However, the monitors I purchased are, and the monitors have both HDMI plus Display Ports. Thus allowing for a cheap and effective desk setup that fits nicely on my Vari Desk. Regardless, I’ve listed a very similar mount that would work with my monitors.
Kasa Power Strip
The Kasa Smart KP303 Power Strip allows me to automate the three ports to power office by voice control with Alexa. Although you could use Google if that is the automation you have setup! In addition, you can also check out the individual plugs which I have around my house.
Blue Home Office Desk Mat (comes in different colors)
Adding a desk mat adds a nice pop of color to my desk, but also protects the wood surface. I really enjoy this blue leather desk pad, which comes in other colors, typically just $10-$15.
SteelSeries Keyboard
I’ve had this exact SteelSeries keyboard for 7 years. You can’t see the light-up effect that well with the ring light drowning out the other light. However, SteelSeries makes other desk essentials including many other keyboards, here is a very similar one.
TreadMill for under my Work from Home Office Desk
I purchased the Murtisol treadmill a few weeks ago and have been loving it. This treadmill slides right underneath my Vari Desk and allows me to be more mobile.
It only goes up to 2.5 MPH while the bar is raised, so I just leave the bar up to go up to around 8MPH.
Qi Wireless Charging USB Lamp
If you see above I have a Qi wireless charging Lamp. Of course, you should have multiple light sources in your home office! Before long you will find yourself getting annoyed with having just one light source you can control in your office. As you may have noticed, I also enjoy multi-purpose functionality. In other words, I can toss my phone on this lamp and get a full charge without using a USB cable.
Amazon Echo Dot
You can see my echo dot next to my lamp in the above section. Thus you can tell I have a lot of tools setup with Alexa.
